Bust of John Wesley
... From the 1959 Minnesota Confernece Journal, Methodist Church
Harry Evans made a presentation to Bishop Coors of a bust of John Wesley made by Spode China works to be placed in the Methodist Headquarters.
"Bishop Coors, brethren of the Minnesota Conference, a year ago it was announced to this Confernece that through the generosity of friends we were now able to have a building entirely for Methodist headquarters in Minnesota. It seemed good to myself and family to present to you as President of this Confernece, to be kept in the headquarters in perpetuity, this Copeland Bust of the father of our church, Rev. John Wesley, with the hope that his spirit may be infused continually in those who visit and do business in our Headquarters, This magnificent bust is one of a few cast by the great for of artistry in china in Great Britain. it is a supposed copy made from the painting by Sir Joshua Reynolds. This I was informed when I acquired it fifty years ago."
