Plate, Minneapolis, Richfield UMC, "Richfield Methodist Church, "Completing A Century of Continuous Service", organized in 1854, services first held in homes and school houses. In 1869 the present church building was erected later parsonage built, church parlors added, bell installed in church tower. Except for stained glass windows the church stands as originally built, still with its handmade pews. The church became a city church when part of Richfield was annexed to the City of Minneapolis. During the long years, the church has survived four wars, droughts, grasshoppers, and two depressions. With a growing community to serve a large Educational Unit will be built in 1950.
